Woodland Cultural Center

Founded in 1972 following the closure of the Mohawk Institute Residential School, the Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC) was created by the Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians to preserve and promote the rich heritage of the Hodinohsh'ni people of the Eastern Woodlands. Originally focused on research and artifact collection, WCC has expanded to include vibrant programs in arts, language, education, and museum curation. Now home to over 50,000 artifacts, it stands as one of Canada's largest First Nations administered cultural facilities. Through exhibitions, events, and educational initiatives, WCC continues to serve as a vital hub for Indigenous knowledge, culture, and community connection.
